Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Labcyte Inc.
Dr. Heron has served as a director of BioMarin since
July 2002. Prior to her present position as chairman
and chief executive officer of Labcyte Inc. (formerly
Picoliter Inc.), which she assumed in July 2001,
Dr. Heron spent six years in increasingly responsible
positions at the Applied Biosystems Group of Applera
Corporation, including the positions of general
manager and vice president of sales and marketing.
From 1995 to 1996, she served as vice president
of marketing at Affymetrix, Inc. Dr. Heron earned
a B.S. in chemistry with highest distinction and
a Ph.D. in analytical biochemistry from Purdue University
and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.
