President and Chief Executive Officer
SGX Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Michael Grey was appointed to BioMarin's board of
directors in December 2005. He currently serves
as President and Chief Executive Officer of SGX
Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a privately held biotechnology
company. Prior to joining SGX Pharmaceuticals, Mr.
Grey acted as President, Chief Executive Officer
and board member of Trega Biosciences, Inc., a biotechnology
company that was acquired by Lion bioscience AG
in 2001. From November 1994 to August 1998, Mr.
Grey was the President of BioChem Therapeutic, Inc.,
the pharmaceutical operating division of BioChem
Pharma Inc., responsible for all company operations
including research, development, sales and marketing,
finance and human resources. Prior to this, in 1994,
Mr. Grey served as President and Chief Operating
Officer for Ansan, Inc. Earlier in his career, from
1974 to 1993, he served in various roles with Glaxo
Inc. and Glaxo Holdings, plc, culminating in the
position of Vice President, Corporate Development.
Mr. Grey currently serves as a director of Achillion
Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and IDM Pharma, Inc. (formerly
known as Epimmune Inc.). He received a B.Sc. in
Chemistry from the University of Nottingham, United
Kingdom. |
